The Routemaster, or RM, is without a doubt, one of the most famous types of bus to ever run in the capital, originally implemented in 1962.

In the 1980's, the Routemaster was gradually withdrawn from London, before a change of plan saw many of the longer versions be refurbished between 1990 and 1992.

However, in 2003, due to policy changes the final 20 routes covered by the bus were given warning that at the next change of contract, the vehicles required would not be RM's. Eventually in 2005, they were fully withdrawn, drawing an end to a long and famous 43 years of service for the RM buses.
